The stated design
Exploration is what the studio names first when it explains why this game is not an MMORPG. It has also been specific about the mechanic it is removing to get there: the objective marker.
The producer’s letter of 31 July 2025 is unusually concrete: “There aren’t glowing arrows dragging you to objectives here. You’ll find forgotten temples, strange characters, ruins with secrets whispered by old gods. Some things you’ll find by accident. That’s the point.”
In written answers published on 1 August 2025, the team names its references: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, The Witcher 3 and Elden Ring, for “open-world exploration, environmental storytelling, and meaningful progression through solo play”. That is a reported statement, not a published one.
Documented facts
The documented account
The developer diary of 10 October 2024 sets the premise: the discovery of Auroria, roughly fifty years after the events of the original game, with the focus shifted to “the hopes and struggles of Auroria’s settlers”. The studio describes the title itself as a reflection of that aim — telling untold stories from the same era.
How quests are given without markers, whether a journal exists, and how much of the world is gated by story progress have not been published. The June 2026 test reached level 16, and no public account of the story beyond its premise exists.
