A 23 September official video shows Selfie Mode inside ArcheAge Chronicles, from camera movement and facial expressions to aperture, filters, combat scenes and group captures.

Illustrated Auroria coast with an airship in daylight; an atmospheric image, not a game capture.

What the official video confirms

The official YouTube short is presented as footage captured entirely in-game. It follows a character through the Watchtower of Hope and nearby scenes while the Selfie Mode interface changes the framing around the character. The final card names the feature and the game, so the footage is a direct showcase rather than a fan-made recreation.

The sequence includes a solo portrait, a fiery combat moment, several group compositions and a sunset view by the water. Those scenes show that the camera can accompany different kinds of play and exploration. They do not establish a separate photo quest, reward, social network or permanent collection system.

Camera controls visible in the footage

The interface exposes a Facial Expression control before the character poses. A later shot shows an aperture value of f/1.4, a framing grid and camera controls while the view is repositioned around the character. These are the settings visibly demonstrated by the short; the video does not provide a complete menu or explain every value behind them.

The footage also switches between colour and a black-and-white filter and uses close, wide and overhead angles. Characters can be turned toward the camera, posed beside companions or kept in the middle of an action scene. The useful takeaway is practical: Selfie Mode is built for composing a view, not only for pressing a single snapshot button.

What remains unknown

The showcase does not announce a release date, access condition or platform-specific limitation for Selfie Mode. It also does not say whether every shown setting will remain in the final build, whether captures can be exported, or whether a saved album exists. Those questions need a later official explanation or an accessible build to answer them.

Until then, treat the short as evidence of a feature shown in the current official footage. For the wider setting around the scenes, use the existing exploration and story reference, and keep the official channel as the source for future demonstrations. Do not turn the visible aperture, filters or poses into rules the studio has not stated.
