XLGAMES confirmed on October 19 that the Steam Next Fest demo is live. You can try ArcheAge Chronicles without applying for a place in the old network test. The public demo is free, open worldwide and scheduled to close on October 26 at 10:00 a.m. PDT (17:00 UTC).
The ArcheAge Chronicles demo is open worldwide on Steam until October 26, 2026. Access, schedule, four demo languages and progress limits explained.
01Download the demo, without a test application
Open the official ArcheAge Chronicles Steam store page, app 3218230, and use its demo download option. The October 1 instructions say no registration or application is required for the demo; the October 19 launch notice confirms it is live. The store now displays a separate demo download. This does not mean you can play without the Steam client or a Steam account.
The published event window is October 19 at 10:00 a.m. to October 26 at 10:00 a.m. PDT, equivalent to 17:00 UTC on both dates. Ham’s October 18 letter confirms worldwide access without regional restrictions, with servers in North America East and West, Europe Central, and Asia East and South. A nearby server is not a guarantee of a particular connection quality.
02What you can try, and in which languages
The launch notice confirms four playable classes: Warrior, Ranger, Berserker and Mage. Ham describes roughly two to three hours of quest content and the high-level Throne of Hinnon dungeon, whose key is hidden. This is a selection of the game, not a promise that every dungeon or activity is included. The key’s location is not supplied in these announcements.
For this demo, Ham lists English, Korean, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese. That four-language list concerns this build, not every language announced for the game. PvP channels become accessible after you leave the first town and reach the Nui Statue at your next destination. They are available earlier than in normal progression, rather than immediately at character creation; our PvP reference explains the channel rules.

03Save data and unavailable content
The initial demo notice says progress and save data will not carry over to Early Access. It also excludes some life content, including housing and trade, and warns of limited features, bugs or unexpected issues. Use the demo to assess the combat and exploration; do not plan around a transferable character or assume that unavailable systems have been removed from the full game.
We've already had a few small focus groups play early builds (under NDA for now), and the feedback has been incredibly helpful and encouraging. We'll be expanding those tests soon, so stay tuned if you want in as we'll be putting out feelers for more players.

04The earlier network test and Early Access are separate
The September network test was a separate session limited to North America. Its old admission conditions are not the route into this worldwide Steam demo. This guide previously led with that older test; the October 19 launch changes the current answer to how you can try the game.
The main Steam product still says its release date is to be announced and presents Early Access as coming soon. The demo download is not the Early Access release, a purchase requirement or a guarantee about its price. These sources confirm the demo’s availability and limits; we have not installed or tested the build. See the dungeon reference for what the studio has actually specified about group play.
