The producer’s letter — “this isn’t ArcheAge 2”
This letter matters because of its timing: it came after nearly a year without a substantial official text, and it is where the studio first stated flatly what the game is not.

The genre statement
“So yeah… this isn’t ArcheAge 2. It’s not a traditional MMORPG. What we’re making is a discovery-driven online action RPG. Think tighter combat, more focused pacing, and a world that’s still shared and social but not built for massive zerg fights or dozens of overlapping systems.”

Combat, housing and crafting
On combat: “We built it from scratch with combo-driven mechanics, dodges, and some really satisfying weapon-specific skills… it rewards smart play over simply spamming skill rotations.”
On the returning systems: “expect lifeskills, housing, and crafting to return, just... better. Shared housing areas. Decor you can actually interact with. NPCs who feel like housemates, not decorations.”
The admission about testing
The letter is also where the studio confirmed that small focus groups had already played early builds under non-disclosure, and promised to expand those tests — a promise it kept eleven months later with the June 2026 test.
