ArcheAge Chronicles weapons: class paths and named relics

Not every weapon name in the official material means the same thing. The class profiles describe ways to fight; the test infographic names weapons used by testers; the art posts tell stories about individual objects. Adding all those names together would not give a reliable count of distinct weapon types.

01The Warrior’s two weapon paths

The Warrior profile of 10 July 2026 sets out Longsword and Greatsword. Longsword has a timing-and-control approach built around parrying, alongside a blood-based approach that sacrifices health and absorbs enemy HP through Crimson Surge. Greatsword instead emphasizes enduring attacks and building Resolve before releasing power.

If you are deciding what to try, those descriptions support a preference between reactive counters, a health-trading approach and the Greatsword’s advance-and-release rhythm. They do not support a damage ranking. The Warrior page explains the named actions without presenting an untested rotation.

02The Ranger’s close and distant approaches

The Ranger profile of 30 July 2026 describes Hatchet and Longbow. Hatchet repeatedly evades and returns to striking distance, with lightning attacks and counters. Longbow maintains distance and pursues a marked target, mixing volleys, aimed attacks and control. The class is therefore not restricted to the archer fantasy.

An official clip dated 27 August 2026 shows the Ranger throwing an axe and the Warrior returning it with a parry. That demonstrates one interaction in the shown build. It does not establish that every projectile can be reflected, nor a universal counter to the Ranger.

03Broad families and names from the test

The post of 27 November 2024 names Bows and Crossbows as ranged weapons; the post of 4 December names the Magic Staff. These announcements do not map every family to every class. In particular, a broad bow announcement and the Ranger’s Longbow profile are overlapping descriptions, not proof of two unrelated weapon categories.

The official results image for the June 2026 focus group test names Elemental Staff, Wavesword and Longsword among the most-used weapons. Usage in that test is not a strength ranking. The image does not establish that Elemental Staff is interchangeable with every item described as a Magic Staff, or specify the Wavesword’s final class restrictions.

04Weapons with their own stories

The Vile Crimson Sword’s post of 28 November 2024 links it to the defeat of Epherium’s greatest gladiator and a victory remembered with both fame and disgrace. The post supplies a legend, not a drop table.

Pantheon’s Punishment, introduced on 3 December 2024, is associated with inquisitors punishing impersonators of the gods. The studio explicitly describes it as a returning ArcheAge weapon with a renewed appearance in Chronicles.

The Root-Severing Blade, introduced on 10 December 2024, is a narrative name tied to a mysterious figure and gambling in Seaglass Harbor. The post also asks about the owner of a deadly axe. It does not establish whether the name belongs to that weapon or its owner, so it cannot yet be treated as a confirmed item name.

The Thorned Halberd’s post of 12 December 2024 connects Axas to the Repentant Shadows during the 25-Year War. It then describes him guarding a Dark Blade armory in Whalebone Graveyard. The named location and commander are part of the account; a guaranteed weapon reward for defeating him is not established.

05Harrod’s weapon returns; his old location is not promised

The post of 5 December 2024 recalls Gatekeeper Harrod and his giant bludgeon in the Singing Land of the original ArcheAge, then says his weapon becomes yours in Chronicles. Gatekeeper Harrod’s bludgeon is a descriptive label here: the post does not give it a separate official item name. It establishes the returning weapon, not the return of Harrod or the Singing Land as an encounter or zone.
